If you are a researcher, health professional, educator, or student, passionate about heart health equity and live, work, or study in Aotearoa NZ, we invite you to become a Pūtahi Manawa member.

Anytime access to our Ako Series webinars which explain and discuss foundational concepts regarding Te Tiriti, Pacific diversity in Aotearoa, co-design, methodologies and community engagement and how to apply these concepts in your work.
Early career researchers are supported to attend the annual Heart Health Forum we organise in collaboration with the Heart Foundation.
Opportunity to contribute to capacity and capability building of Māori and Pacific researchers through our Integrated Research Module student internships, Summer studentships and other supervisory and mentoring roles.
Opportunities to be involved in inspiring the next generation of Māori and Pacific heart health contributors through our Outreach and Education programmes with high school students around Aotearoa New Zealand.
Join large scale outreach community events such as Polyfest.

Follow our Code of Conduct and represent our values.
Active researchers must complete Performance Management Data annually.
Let us know when you have received any awards or formal recognition for your research or work.

Assessment Criteria for Full Membership Applications
The applications will be assessed against the following criteria:
Alignment of the applicant's values with the values of Putahi Manawa.
The fit of the applicant's research/work programme with the research programme and aspirations of Pūtahi Manawa where applicable.
Excellence of the applicant's CV (i.e. demonstrated capability to deliver meaningful outcomes) where applicable.
Affiliate membership
If you are passionate about heart health equity and not a researcher, health professional, educator or student, we invite you to apply for affiliate membership.
If you are a researcher, health professional, educator or student who is not living in Aotearoa New Zealand, you may not apply for research funding, so please apply for affiliate membership.

Assessment Process for Membership and Affiliate Membership Applications
All applications for membership will be assessed and membership decided upon by the Research Operations Team. Input from Co-directors may be sought to inform the decision.
The applicant will be advised of the outcome within one month of submission.
Termination of Membership and Affiliate Membership
Members may choose to terminate their membership at any time in writing to putahimanawa@auckland.ac.nz.
Failure to act in a manner that is in line with the Putahi Manawa Code of Conduct may result in termination of membership.
